QUANTIFIED SELF-REFLECTION

August - December 2013
Team: Knowl Baek, Minji Kim, Aaron Otani and Priyanka Marawar

Problem:

Quantified self has rapidly grown into an international movement with the rise of big data and wide adoption of smart devices. Currently, majority of tools and services focus narrowly on health and wellness metrics. However, we found that a large subset of self-trackers want to learn more from their personal data and pursue high-level goals such as life balance, self-growth and self-awareness.

Outcome:

We designed 'Reflect,’ a quantified self application that serves as a digital mirror for life moments.

With reflect, life missioners can:
- Combine quantitative and qualitative data to derive and document their own insights.
- Organize data into custom categories based on their real life aspirations.
- Adopt new goals based on shifting priorities while continuing to build self-awareness.
