GLASS EXPERIENCE AT BRONX ZOO

June - August 2013 (Part of internship at Moment Design, NYC)
Client: Bronx Zoo Exhibition Planning & Design
Team: Knowl Baek, Steven Bennett, Zoey Chou, Keta Patel

Problem:

Since its release in 2012, Google Glass has generated a lot of expectations as well as skepticism of becoming the next ‘Google Wave.’

While glass offers a novel experience, it is still largely inaccessible for the public and the interface is criticized to further isolate us from human interaction. How might we position Glass as a service enhancement in public settings, e.g. at the Bronx Zoo?

Outcome:

Developed a set of principles to design Glass application for public environment with an educational content.

Designed a new Glass application concept, Compass - that positions Glass as a social device and an adaptive service infrastructure for the zoo.

Concept short listed for IxDA Awards 2014 in ‘Engaging’ category.
